Matthew Woodward (“Matt”) joined Haney Phinyowattanachip PLLC in 2024. Prior to joining the firm, Matt served as a law clerk for the Honorable Senior Justice LeRoy F. Millette of the Supreme Court of Virginia. Matt worked as a Public Defender in Portsmouth, Virginia before his clerkship.
Matt earned his law degree from William & Mary Law School, where he was Senior Note Editor for the William & Mary Environmental Law and Policy Review and a member of William & Mary’s Moot Court team.
Prior to law school, Matt was a copywriter based in Charleston, South Carolina. He obtained his undergraduate degrees in English and Sociology from the College of Charleston.
